You will need to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain status first. After you have lawfully lived in the UK for one year under Indefinite Leave to Remain, you can apply for British citizenship.
Graduate Trainee ICT Visa holders can only remain in the UK for a maximum period of two years, which is insufficient for being considered for British citizenship. Graduate Trainee ICT Visa holders can switch to the Long-term Staff Tier 2 ICT Visa if they fulfil certain requirements. Once they have lived in the UK legally for at least five years, they will usually be eligible to start the process of acquiring British citizenship.

It is not possible to directly switch to a Tier 2 General Visa from a Tier 2 ICT Visa. In almost all cases, you will need to leave the UK for a cooling-off period of twelve months before you can apply for a Tier 2 Visa.
However, the cooling-off period will not apply to those earning at least £120,000 or more as a Tier 2 ICT Visa holder, or to those who will be earning at least £159,600 as a Tier 2 (General) Visa holder.
