1: The situation

Jennifer was a UK National and has been married to Virginia, a Ukrainian National, for a few months.

They had married during a trip to the USA and were looking at options to bring Virginia to the UK as a Civil Partner.

Unsure of where to start, Jennifer contacted IAS and arranged a conference call to discuss their options.

2: How IAS helped

Our lawyer spoke with them both and outlined Virginia’s requirements.

We made it clear which documents were required and provided them with a full written list, tailored to meet their circumstances.

They were unsure if their Marriage Certificate would be sufficient for the Application – we had requested a scan and confirmed that it was, indeed, suitable.

3: The outcome

After a week of gathering documents, they contacted IAS again to submit their Application for them and draft a Letter of Representation, citing all of the Immigration Rules and ensuring that they had maximised their chances of success.

Within 2 weeks, Virginia’s Application was accepted and she had received her positive outcome.

Virginia was unclear if this visa would allow her to work. After another call to our lawyer, we confirmed that it would.

Virginia is now living happily and working full time in the UK, with Jennifer.
