1: The situation

Luana is a Brazilian National. She and her partner, Daniel, met whilst she was visiting London and they began their relationship immediately. They kept in constant contact with each other and Daniel proposed to her a few years after their initial meeting.

Their plan was to bring Luana to the UK so that they could live together, but they were not sure how to do this and how long the process would take.

Daniel dropped into our office for a consultation.

2: How IAS helped

One of our lawyers greeted Daniel and sat down and spoke with him.

We outlined the steps they should follow, the requirements they must meet and the documents needed for the application.

Daniel instructed us to take ownership of the entire application and introduced us to Luana via Skype.

We laid out a plan based on their circumstances (for example, the Financial Requirements were different as Daniel was self-employed, but only had been for six months) and we all agreed to liaise by email, and arrange calls and Skype sessions when we had to.

By the end of the first session, we had produced a comprehensive set of instructions and a list of documents Daniel and Luana needed to obtain.

3: The outcome

Within a week, we had arranged the documents in order and prepared them for submission – we had even couriered the documents to Luana in Brazil to ensure they reached her in time for her appointment at the Application Centre in Brazil.

The application was submitted and it was successful – the happy couple now live happily together in London and plan to use our services for their Spouse Visa application once they are married.
