1: The situation

Tobin, a German National was splitting his time between Germany and the UK for work. He had been doing this for nearly 10 years.

His main place of residence was Germany, but he did rent a property in the UK, which he stayed in when he travelled to the UK.

Because of the Referendum, Tobin was unsure if his future routine would be secure.

After reading our reviews online, Tobin sent an email requesting us to get back in touch with him.

2: How IAS helped

Our Enquiry Team called Tobin and determined that he may be eligible for a Permanent Residency Card. They arranged for Tobin to meet with a lawyer in Luton the following day.

Our lawyer examined Tobin’s extensive time in the UK – they both agreed that the Home Office may look unfavourably on his application as he only spends half of his time in the UK.

However, IAS made a strong representation on Tobin’s behalf, as well as working with his employer to draft a covering letter explaining his worth to the company and that the travel he undertakes is a necessary part of his job.

3: The outcome

Tobin was granted his Permanent Residency Card – this granted him the right to work and live in the UK permanently.

IAS informed him that he was now immediately eligible to Naturalise as a British Citizen – we have given him full instructions for this, and our details if he ever needs our help with any future applications.
