1: The situation

Anna was a Russian National who had been working with a global company for over 10 years. She dealt with their London Office on a regular basis using Skype.

After securing a promotion in her company, she was offered employment in the UK which could be used as a path towards UK residency.

She requested a Skype appointment with one of our lawyers at a suitable time for her to discuss her options.

2: How IAS helped

A lawyer called Anna and confirmed that, as per the Immigration Rules, she would need a valid visa to enter the UK.

She was uncertain which visa would best suit her needs.

IAS suggested that we conference another call with Anna and her employers to fully outline an appropriate plan based on both their needs.

The next day, this was organised and it was clear that Anna would be eligible for a Tier 2 Work Visa. This would allow her to work and reside in the UK, as well as bring her husband and child over as dependents.

There was a slight issue in that Anna’s company did not yet have the status to offer her a Certificate of Sponsorship.

As part of Anna’s application, IAS secured the sponsorship status of the company within a week and immediately began her application for a Tier 2 Visa.

3: The outcome

Anna made a successful application for a Tier 2 Visa and brought her family over to the UK as dependants.

Anna and her family were assured that they would be able to settle in the UK after a few years of residency.
