Jean-Paul first came to the UK for asylum and wanted to help others do the same. He started his career as a volunteer with Legal&Legal solicitors and went on to complete his Law degree and traineeship through them. He is now a fully qualified, practicing solicitor with two law degrees and a passion for helping others through their own immigration issues.

Background

Jean-Paul came to the UK in 2007 by claiming asylum. He started training with Legal&Legal Solicitors in Glasgow after he had graduated from Glasgow University with his Law degree.

After one year of training, he received his Practicing Certificate which gave him the right to represent an appeal at a First-Tier Tribunal. Following on from this, he got involved in drafting grounds of appeal then moved to drafting the same for the Upper Tribunal.

Experience

Jean-Paul has been practicing immigration law for five years and has dealt with a range of cases and helped clients enter the UK through a range of different routes. His cases include Asylum cases, Entry Clearance cases and situations in which he has helped individuals obtain full British Citizenship.

Qualifications

Jean-Paul has two Law degrees from the Universities of Glasgow and Kinshasa.

Fully bilingual, he speaks both fluent English and French. He has practised as a lawyer in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is a fully qualified solicitor in Scotland in Immigration law.
