Background and Experience
Khadijah has been involved in a variety of immigration issues during her time with IAS, including both personal and corporate immigration.
As a people person, she finds working within immigration offers the opportunity to form connections with clients and play a key role in helping others. One particularly rewarding case involved a complex asylum and human rights appeal. The individual was a Syrian national; however, the Home Office disputed that he was an Egyptian national. The Home Office had somewhat strong evidence to support this through a linguistic report. On appeal, subject to further counteracting evidence, the appeal was allowed, and after 7 years, the individual was granted refugee status.
As a member of both Free Movement and HJT, Khadijah ensures they are up-to-date with any changes or issues in the world of global immigration.
Khadijah certainly has experience facing the unexpected, even outside of work. While swimming in the Maldives, she came face-to-face with a baby shark!
