It’s important to note that ETIAS is not a visa but an online authorisation process. Upon your arrival in Portugal, a border control officer will inspect your passport and other required documents to ensure you satisfy the entry requirements.
How to Apply for the ETIAS
Completing the ETIAS application form online is quick and straightforward, and your application can be processed within a few minutes. The processing time can extend up to 14 days if you need to provide additional documentation or up to 30 days if you need to attend an interview.
It’s advisable to apply in advance of your trip before you buy your ticket or book your accommodation.
To apply for the ETIAS, you’ll need the following:
