- Advising pre-settled status holders on upgrading to settled status under both the traditional continuous residence test and the new 30-months-in-60-months rule introduced in July 2025.
- Understand the Home Office’s automated settled status conversion process, including who qualifies for automatic upgrade and who must still apply manually.
- Manage late applications, including assessing reasonable grounds, understanding the risk of invalidity, and advising clients on interim protection while a decision is pending.
- Advise on the April 2026 pre-settled status cancellation process and what clients should do if they may be at risk.
