Our lawyers in Wood Green have a track-record when it comes to successful citizenship applications. There are several routes that you can use to become a British citizen, these include:
The requirements for each vary, but usually you will need to have had settled status in the UK for at least 12 months. Our lawyers can assess your eligibility for the citizenship routes and inform you about all of the requirements that you will need to meet and how you can meet them.
They can also write you a Letter of Representation, which will support your application by citing relevant aspects of UK immigration law. As well as this you won’t need to worry about staying updated on your application because our lawyers will communicate with the Home Office on your behalf and monitor its progress.
What is the Life in the UK Test?
To become a British citizen, you will need to pass the Life in the UK Test. This is a test all about the UK’s culture and traditions. To pass you must achieve at least 74%. The test is made up of 24 questions and you will have 45 minutes to complete it. Our lawyers can help you to prepare for it and give you more information about the types of questions you may have to answer.
If you have already passed the Life in the UK Test, for example as part of an Indefinite Leave to Remain application, then you do not need to sit the test again. Some people are also exempt from having to pass the Life in the UK Test, this includes people under the age of 18 or over the age of 65 or those who suffer from a long-term illness or disability.
